I know some people like to go the stages first thing in the morning and watch all the acts throughout the day, then I also know of some people who just kick it at the campsite and wait until the headliners play to go see the music.
As of now I plan on about seeing 10 or so acts, though hopefully a few more depending on who else gets announced.
About 3-4 bands a day including the headliners is perfect for me. What about y'all?

I've gotten used to watching stuff from the moment it starts until the moment music ends. I plan on going to early shows (unless it's people I have absolutely NO interest in even trying) and just relaxing all day until night time. Also depends on who they add.

I've done the all day at the stage thing and it wears ya out, even when you're just sitting. I expect I will miss the early bands because they naturally tend to be the bands that it's understood can more easily be missed. Of course if a band I really want to see is playing I'll go check them out.
In the past at fests I usually go in to the stages around 3:00 or so. Then depending on who's playing I may stay until the last note or I may try to get an hour or so of free beers and good ol' fashioned sitting back at camp.
Then again, every year I end up seeing some band I had no plans of seeing, and I end up missing a band I really wanted to see just because something else interesting presented itself.
So to answer the question, I have no idea. I've found it's better to go into these things with no plans and just see what happens.

Plans are silly, never in my life have I been able to stick to a plan for a festy, no less try to shoot for a number of shows that I want to see. I know WHO I want to see, I know there is no chance that I will see all of them.

Yeah i'd agree that making plans doesn't seem like a good idea b/c there are so many variables. My buddies and I just try to get in early and see as much music and anything else interesting as possible.

Obviously the Flaming Lips, but I chose Nateva partly because of the date and partly because I won't be able to live with myself without ever seeing the living Dead play....
This is my first festival, I was wondering how many straight hours of music one could handle in a day... Ever have a hard time finding a quality spot to stand/sit for any big bands?

All I know is I have a few bands I have to see no matter what. Most of the time they are later in the day. Other then that I do whatever. Some days I’ll stay at camp til the band I have to see comes on. Others I will go early and roam around from stage to stage, check out the sites and that sort of thing.
I would say go and pace yourself and you will be able to hang all day and night. Don’t get slammed first thing in the morning and expect to hang all day. Some people do it yet I don’t know how. Don’t have any expectations of seeing every thing you planned. It’s not going to happen. But don’t let that get ya down b/c chances are the reason why you missed is b/c you got distracted by something else just as awesome. Check out unfamiliar shows! You won’t regret it! That is the part I love most about festivals is hearing the things around me and taking me to where I wana go. I have discovered so many new artist that I would not have if I didn’t. Check out the activities! I always regret not checking them out. Explore, be free and open minded and you will be fine!!

I have no idea what I'll be doing throughout the fest. I have bands I know I want to see and other I know I'd like to check out. But it will really all depend on my daughter and how she is doing/feeling. We're both excited about the late night aspect too. Rave is a little night owl during the summer. We'll be hanging out at camp, wandering the grounds, checking out the bands, hooping, and I'll be dancing. She "doesn't dance", but you know I'll get her out there with me. Everything is up in the air for us. It all depends on how we're feeling and what we feel like doing. I am looking forward to checking out the sights and sounds though!

For me it will partly depend on the layout of the grounds. One thing I love about Mt. Jam is the fact that you can climb up the hill a ways, plant yourself and hang out during the day and still see and hear the music perfectly without being swamped with people. I'll definately be catching all the headliners, plus many more throughout the days, but I'm interested to see how it's laid out.

figure Thursday night is a wash, we're old and need to rest up for the rest of the weekend, plus Lotus isn't my favorite cup of tea...then again, depends on who is added, might stray down for a little while Thursday. If not, frozen margaritas will be flowing. The rest of the way through, anywhere from 3-5 bands a day, depending on who is playing. Lots of wandering planned, want to definitely make the most of the other attractions and activities.

When I was taping I used to be down at the stage all day from beginning to the bitter end. Grueling! Now I'm older and wiser (well maybe just older), and I just like to walk around chatting & chilling with different people. I don't neccessarily need to "see" the bands (except for Susan Tedeschi), just hearing and feeling the vibes. When the headliners are on, I usually dancing at the back of the venue where there's room to move. Taping definately took me out of the moment, and I missed alot, thinking I'll just listen to it later. No matter what they tell you, it's never the same as really seeing it. Relax, pace yourself and have fun.

Have you seen Lotus before? They're amazing an act that I couldn't fully appreciate before I saw them live. Now I'm totally in love with them. I have my list of artists I am definitely checking out. Otherwise I'll be chillin, roaming around, just exploring and probably catching some really nice unexpected acts. There is no way I could go all day without stopping to rest, it's impossible and has caused me to miss some some of my favorite artists in the past due to sheer exhaustion.
