That actually made me decide not to attend. While I like the bands, I don't want LiveNation to bogart the fest scene like they have the rest of the concert industry |

As for where the 'rumor' coming from, its called the interwebs and via word of mouth from friends. Are you really asking me to start googling to try to determine where it comes from for you? It is seen on many message forums, feel free to sleuth it yourself - or, are you trying simply to distract from and dance around the actual question itself. (a simple google search will result in no fewer than three forums from the 'scene' all chattering on it). feel free to kill that rumor right now! |

I couldn't find any official documents or websites that said Live Nation is funding Nateva. and on the sponsors link on the Nateva site only 2 sponsors are listed. natevafestival.com/sponsors/The only information linking live nation and Nateva that I could find were posts on other forums. Maybe it was leaked by someone and both Nateva and live nation are keeping it under wraps for some reason. but until I see something from either the official Nateva or Live Nation sites im am going to just consider this a rumor started by some rando kid. |

I did hear this rumor a few months ago on the Nateva Facebook page. They commented that Live Nation is their booking agent, however, they are not backed in any way by them.

First off, just because we're moderators doesn't mean we know who owns Nateva or who's behind the funding. Maybe we'll find all of that out, but, as of right now, I don't know and I'd guess that neither itrainmonkeys or Jah~R knows. As far as any affiliation between Nateva and Live Nation, I have found nothing other than one thread on the GOTV board that mentions a relationship between the two. That's not proof, not by any stretch of the imagination. Message board rumors do not equal fact, and there's no legitimate source pointing to a link. So, please, let's keep this type of innuendo at a minimum unless you have an actual source. |

Let's hear more about this My understanding is that Nateva's head guy is named Frank Chandler, and that the name "Nateva" comes from the names of his kids, Nate and Eva. That's all I know on that, at least right now. |

I did find a rumor that said a Live Nation amphitheatre was being built in Oxford Maine at some point. All I wanted was a simple link so I could find out where/why the rumors had started. I know they can be from a number of sources. But there is such a thing as good sources and bad sources. I want to find out what these "sources" are before making any sort of judgment. Also, as mojo pointed out....we started this forum independently because a few of us were going/thinking of going to the festival and enjoyed having Inforoo and Infobury and other forums like it. Not until very recently have we actually been in any sort of contact/discussion with any Nateva officials. If I had the answer I'd gladly give it to you. Hopefully Dexxy can stop in this thread and explain his post in that one link. |

Nateva has staff that also works for Live Nation. For example their Stage Directory (not sure of the exact title) is also works that same position at the House of Blues in Boston - owned by Live Nation. They are NOT backed by Live Nation but they are on good working terms with them. While I HATE live nation, it is a good thing for a fest in the Northeast to be on good terms with them because due to their choke hold on the market they could threaten bands and make sure they didnt play at the fest.
Also dont you think Live Nation would have their shiznit all up over Natevas website if they were funding them? I dont know of any businesses who would fund such an expensive endeavor and not ask to be recognized for it.

Thanks for giving us the information you have.
I don't think having a link to the rumors necessarily helps. They are labeled as rumors, and as such are merely a touching point to question.
From what you've said clearly there is some sort of relationship between Live Nation and Nateva. It may be casual.
I can hypothesize and speculate as to why Live Nation wouldn't "have their shiznit" all over the website (believe me lol). But it would be just that.

I almost gaurentee this is someone from the Vibes boards who got offended by me alerting Vibe tribers of this forum. You are saying the same things as those ppl and the only other festy thread you posted in was Vibes. I found a business license in Massachusettes taken out as Natava LLC buy a guy named Frank. I found Frank and contacted him. I am assured that he is a deadhead husband and dad who created this festival with a few dedicated friends on his team. It is named after his children Nate and Eva.
Rather than bash this guy for trying to show us a good time or speculate on rumors, how about we volunteer to help out and create an amazing festival!
