For most of the festival, only two of us recorded. In fact, I suffered an equipment problem the week before Nateva, and was forced to run sub-par (in my opinion) microphones that my deck could handle in it's reduced state. I was anticipating many more tapers, too, but as we all saw, many either left their gear at home, in the car, or did not come at all. Sunday of course saw many folks with mics due to the Further set, and some others. With three stages going from 11 am until the wee hours, it was impossible to get everything with only two of us, unfortunately. Ordinarily, with good mics, it is simply a matter of track cutting a recording, and posting. Not the case with the state my gear was in, and I needed to do A LOT of post-record work. Selfishly, the bands that I really enjoy got more love than others. Some have taken many hours of tweaking, to produce something enjoyable to listen to, and I appreciate all of the kind words from many of you on the recordings. I have also received many comments from the critics, too. Such is life. Frank Chandler advertised a dedicated taper section. It was overlooked amidst the "thousand juggling balls" that he had to oversee for his first Festival, and I have received an e-mail back promising something different next year. We were limited to hugging the fence to the soundboard pen, blocking off traffic with chairs and trashcans (weren't those nice in the hot sun) and standing watch over our gear to prevent the inadvertent and innocent stumble through by folks enjoying the scene. IMHO, not the best placement for our gear for optimal recordings, but all things considered, the safest. Thank God that Rainbow Productions brought their A-Game for the festival, and had an amazing sound system from many angles. Again, thank you for the kind words and encouragement as I try to get these up and available to all of you as soon as possible. The other main taper there does not post his shows, and tapes purely for personal enjoyment, so unfortunately, we are mostly stuck with what I recorded for the first few days. Here is what I got, to add hope, or squash it, whichever applies for you... 07-02 Greensky Bluegrass Umphrey's McGee Jacob Dylan and Three Legs Jackie Greene Passion Pit Ghostland Observatory moe. 07-03 Ryan Montbleau Band John Browns Body STS9 Flaming Lips 07-04 Billy Keane and TMO Nate Wilson Group Trucks/Tedeschi Furthur over half are posted, and can be found here: www.archive.org/bookmarks/LostSailorRecordingswarmest regards to all, Christopher

an unfortunate update. Due to the policies of the respective bands, I will not be posting publicly available copies of the recordings for Flaming Lips, Trucks/Tedeschi Band, Passion Pit and Ghostland Observatory. As I do this for my hobby, and it is a passion that I have loved for years, I am intent on observing and complying with the policies and desires of the bands that bring to us the music that we enjoy. Credibility and accountability are values that I strive to protect, and sometimes is the difference between being able to record a group, and not. It also prevents ASCAP from knocking on my front door, levying a hefty fine, and confiscating my gear and recordings Again, my recordings of these stellar performances at Nateva will not be available for general public download or streaming. My sincerest apologies to those who held out hope and patience for me to finish editing. Most bands will have soundboard copies of their performances on sale through their websites, usually available in lossy (mp3) and lossless (flac) formats. Warmest regards to all

Did anyone tape Mark Karan's Jemimah Puddleduck or Moonalice? Both those bands are archive and e-tree friendly. I was in early for both bands and thought they sounded great.

Has the Greensky Bluegrass show appeared anywhere yet? I see happyhourhero taped it but I haven't been able to find it.
Thanks!
