Well there is your answer.
"The music will end early in the evening on Sunday, our vendors will close and our staff will start to break down the site. We will ask you to leave the Fairgrounds at that time and go home. For those of you with long rides ahead of you, or simply not feeling like hitting the road, camping will be made available to you onsite. In any case, by 9:00am Monday morning you will be required to have left the site. Hopefully with a smile."

Sounds kinda reasonable to me. Most people leave early the last day anyway.

Can't say I have an issue having to leave Sunday. After a nice weekend it will be great to be home and get ready for the week. People will leave throughout the day and it won't be as bad as people think it will be.

Dude, I have to call you on that comment about the hill. The halt of construction last year had almost everything to do with the condition of the hill. Yes, that work was not authorized (depending on who you talk to), but what ultimately stopped it was State officials looking at the mess and saying NO. Whether the State approves that hill this year will depend on the kind of weather that we have this summer. If that land is wet at the end of June, you can bet there will be no camping on the hill. There may be one possible way that the condition of the hill doesn't matter, and that is the new climate in Augusta. We now have a State government that actually believes that business is a good thing, and landowners should be able to use their assets to actually make a living. By July, that hill may be a go no matter how shaky the topsoil is. Then there is the newly approved casino in Oxford. The local desperation for business may not be as keen as last year, in spite of the d***h***s who are still trying to thwart the will of the voters. We shall see. I found one of your comments to be most interesting. You mention demolition of existing buildings on the fairgrounds. Would you care to elaborate on that subject? I find it fascinating that the owners of the fairgrounds would allow Frank to flatten existing buildings that have been there for years, in order to facilitate one festival a year. Did Frank buy the fairgrounds? Are the fairgrounds destined to be leveled anyway, due to future development? Livenation? Casino? Both? If all of this extra space was available, why did they need the speedway for overflow last year? Did Frank buy/lease the additional areas for this year? So many questions. Since you and I seem to be the only other regular posters left on this site, and apparently two of the few who care about the serious stuff, would you like to take this conversation offline? In spite of the fact that I may seem adversarial at times, I really do want this festival to succeed. By the way, have you noticed the change in activity on this site? There was a mini flurry of activity for a bit lately, and then the Nateva website dropped the link to this site. Suddenly, this place is a ghost town. Coincidence? Maybe it's the Bonnarroo lineup announcement. Take care, Matt Call me on it all you want, but if you looked back you would realize work was only stopped around the hill briefly There was working being done around the tree line below the hill and around the stream drainage. There were concerns with the work being done, by the owners of the fairgrounds mind you not Nateva, was causing damage to the stream system and was temporarily halted. Silt was turning up in a pond across Pottle Road. They didn't camp the hill because the grass did not set in time. www.sunjournal.com/oxford-hills/story/842595 - nothing in there suggests the hill has anything to do with it. The area affected wasn't even near the hill. I am not sure where you came up with the state telling them they couldn't use the hill, would be interested to see something in reference to that. Everything I was told was that the owners of the grounds did not want the hill used because of the grass... If I remember right it was the planning board chairman or something who deemed it off limits. Also remember that there were a couple of permitting issues that arose. First the construction permits/issues undertaken by the owners of the grounds. Second was the small chunk of the festival site being in Norway and they require a permit for gatherings of over 250 people. I am not trying to argue with you but I obviously have a generally solid handle on the facts from last year. I spent time on the grounds before and after the festival, not claiming to have any power of any sort but I was there to witness the stuff. Also was there when all you people were screaming at Nateva last year about the permitting and construction. In regards to the leveling of buildings, I know the idea has been batted about a number of times but not sure if they have moved forward with that. You must realize that there are buildings on the fair grounds that are rarely used over the course of the year. Some of them are already in poor condition and in ways could be a slight face lift for the grounds. So you are wondering what the fairgrounds are going to be used for in the future and what will be developed there? You should keep your eyes open in the next few months. Frank has some awesome surprises in store for you I can tell you that Livenation has no stock in Nateva and that no one is going to be tearing up the fair grounds and putting in a casino in that exact spot anytime soon, if that is what you are alluding to. Lastly don't stress about the link to here being taken down on the website. There is a current overhaul of the website in the works and that likely had something to do with it. They want to keep this forum going, I have spoken with several Nateva staff members who like the idea of this forum and want to keep it alive. If you remember back to the earrrrrrrrrrrly days of Nateva and their website, they released their own forum before they realized Infoteva existed. It was clear that there were more people coming here and that this forum was of a better design so they decided to stick with it. Did I miss anything?

I know I have said this before but I want to reiterate that I am far from the final word on any of these things. I am just trying to fill in some with the info that I am privy to and allowed to share. I'm not gonna BS people, make things up or say anything that I don't feel comfortable putting out there, but realize there could obviously be changes in what I share with you all..

Dexxy, are you friends with the organizers or just a really big fan of the festival? You seem to be in the know on a lot of this stuff!

Combination of both. I knew the guy who is head of Operations for Nateva prior to Nateva being a festival. He helped organize Up North in 2008 and I knew him through that essentially. That relationship helped me get a spot with Nateva's street team, getting it off the ground in year one. Helping with the street team obviously requires you to have a good handle on all things Nateva. Inevitably you will have a bunch of people asking you various things when you are working. So Nateva staff would often fill me in on things to share with people on the streets. Also, every once in a while, when there is a pressing matter, I will exchange emails with Frank. He is often is where my info is coming from and I consider him a reliable source :-)
Otherwise I am just a big fan.

Dexxy always knows what he's talking about. Probably more than anyone other than the Official Nateva Gurus.
As for the link on the official website, it's back up. They're doing a lot of overhaul stuff, so look for big changes over there and some reflection of that over here. A few 2011-specific threads have already been put up, and there'll be more later. Until then, I'm pretty confident that Nateva will bring another great year in 2011, and I'm looking forward to the lineup!
