Are some of the realistic additions you'd like to see to the lineup?

I've got 2 off the top of my head. Primus and Umphrey's McGee. Sadly I don't see either, since I don't see STS9 being a pre-headliner this year, so I think the headliners are set, and I don't think Primus would headline AG and not headline Nateva.

Would they not have all the headliners booked and posted by the first tier? I'd love to see moe. back, that's the only realistic addition I can think of.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with the lineup but I don't see Thievery Corporation as a headliner. Maybe a late night spot. Would like to see Widespread, Warren Haynes Band, MMJ.

I was 16 at Nateva last year and was a little put off by how most of the people there were closer to my dad's age than mine. More indie-blended hiphop, electro, and/or rock would really make the atmosphere more my style. Bands like Ghostland, Passion Pit, You Can Be A Wesely, STS9, and The Constellations made this festival for me last year, and I would have liked to see more of that this year... there's far less.
I'm not sure how realistic it is, but I know Astronautalis enjoys playing in Maine. besides him, and again, not sure how realistic, but I'd like to see: Pretty Lights Flying Lotus Big Gigantic STRFKR Champagne Champagne The Constellations Yellow Ostrich Chromeo Macklemore and Ryan Lewis Primal Static Miike Snow
if any of those names appeared on the lineup, sooo many more younger people would attend. guaranteed.

Thievery, STS9, Ed Sharpe, Ghostland, The New Deal, EOTO, ESKMO, Zack Deputy, Dopapod, KDTU, Keller, Guster, Indobox, Roots of Creation. I think you could pretty effectively argue that there is MORE of the type of music (indie/hip hop electro and rock) you mentioned this year. There certainly is more bands that are geared towards an older crowd but the electronic scene has def. been stepped up. For comparison: We dont have Big G but we got The New Deal. We dont have Passion Pit but we have Edward Sharpe. Not YCBAW but we got Guster. You still have STS9, Ghostland and EOTO. The Mclovins def. target a younger crowd too

I don't expect any big additions...Festivals always put "and more" at the end of their lineups. More than likely it'll be second and third tier bands that they might add. There is nothing to make me think the headliners arent going to be Tribe and Thievery Corp

UM was not in the initial Mtn. Jam lineup and is now doing late night there, so I see them as a realistic add.

I would love to see moe. come back, Old crow medicine show would be an awesome Sunday afternoon add and Levon Helm as a headliner would be amazing! I dont know how realistic moe. and Levon are but Old crow should be doable!

Already going, but I would love to see:
Any form of Les Claypool Perpetual Groove (tore up GOTV late-night two years ago) Sufjan Stevens (amazing show at the Orpheum last fall, very Flaming Lips-ish in theatrics)
I would, of course, love love love to see the Lips or moe. again, but the line-up has to be somewhat different than last year. I like a lot of the suggestions in this thread.

The more I think about it the more I feel like huge headliners aren't really essential. There's some really good mid-level depth in this lineup and a lot of the more realistic adds are great bands that aren't huge names. A true "wow" headliner would be fantastic, don't get me wrong, but there are a bunch of artists I can think of as being more realistic adds, as well as great shows, that wouldn't be what you wold call a "headliner". Plus, as much as I love UM, I would rather see new acts come through Nateva this year rather than try to have essentially a do-over of last year.
Bring in very quality acts like Pretty Lights, Matisyahu, Moon Taxi, Streetlight Manifesto, Portugal The Man, Wilco, Astronautalis, Iron and Wine, Macklemore and Ryan lewis, Dr. Dog, Delorean, Flying Lotus, Bear Lake, Free Energy... the list could go on and on. I for one would rather have weaker headliners and a lot of quality middle of the pack bands than huge headliners that only make up a small portion of the whole festival.

Though, just sort of thinking aloud considering headliners, I would really consider finding out how available Modest Mouse is. I know they are headlining Sasquatch! in Seattle in May. Now that's a headliner! and the folk/rock roots could mix pretty well with the electronica/trip hop of Thievery Corp and more classic jam-band style of Tribe.

I'm really on the fence about coming to Maine this summer, but Modest Mouse would be a single addition that could seal the deal for me. Another one is Josh Ritter. Been listening to him for years but I saw him for the first time last May and got so hooked I've seen him four other times since Their live show is so energetic. He's a brilliant songwriter, and the entire band is extremely talented and enthusiastic. You can tell that they all love what they do. Besides, on the stage set-up they've always got three flags: California, Idaho, and Maine! He'd be so awesome to have at Nateva.
