I hope so. Rothbury was my first (and second) festival, and I loved it. I'm hoping for the same vibe, same awesome atmosphere, and same great weather. The similarities are one of the reasons I'm seriously considering the long drive.

It will be a whole hell of a lot smaller- which I think I'm gonna like. Being a 25 minute walk from the main stage gets to be a bummer regardless of how awesome the festy is. Im struggling with the idea some people have been batting around of doing something similar to Sherwood at Nateva.. I feel like it would be awesome, obviously, but I worry about people claiming that Nateva simply copied Rothbury's idea..

How many people/tickets were at Rothbury. I know Nateva has stated they are capping at at 15,000.
I never got the chance to hit up Rothbury so it would be pretty cool for this new festival to be something that sticks around for a while.
Good point....guess we'll have to wait and see. I wouldn't mind anyone claiming they stole Rothbury's idea. No matter what they do there will be people who like and dislike the ideas that they come up with. I can't wait to see what kind of activities they have.

^^ From what I've heard, Rothbury had 35-45k the first year, and probably 5-10k more than that in 2009. It will be a whole hell of a lot smaller- which I think I'm gonna like. Im struggling with the idea some people have been batting around of doing something similar to Sherwood at Nateva.. I feel like it would be awesome, obviously, but I worry about people claiming that Nateva simply copied Rothbury's idea.. Yeah size-wize Nateva will be a little nicer for sure, hopefully a little more convenient. As far as the forest, they could downright copy the Sherwood Forest verbatim and I would not mind a bit, and I know a ton of people that would feel the same way. We would in fact feel at home. Also, I think one of the most unique aspects of Sherwood Forest was the forest itself, which obviously can't be duplicated anywhere else but Rothbury. As far as putting light installations and trippy sculptures into festival grounds, Rothbury was definitely not the first to do this: Fuji Festival, Japan Shambhala, Canada

lol I was one of the ones who was throwing this idea around on fb discussion boards. you make a good point about people claiming that its a ripoff of rothbury, but I think the pros of having insane shiznit to walk/explore in totally outweigh the cons of people claiming that its a copy.

There should definitely be something like this, because I'm definitely going to miss Sherwood Forest. But, does the location really have the space to accomodate something like this? There's not really a forest right in the middle of the campground or anything like that, is there? Of course, they could just set up several trippy art areas that would also be awesome... and most people are going enjoy crazy lights at night no matter where/how they're put together.

There are wooded areas around the campground, I am not sure exactly what they have access to but considering that they are capping it at 15k i doubt they have room for a trip forest

I'm excited about the talk of jugglers and magicians walking around. That could blow some people's minds at certain times of the night lol.

That could blow some people's minds at certain times of the night lol. A well timed magic trick could definitely keep me wandering around for hours wondering what the Hell I just witnessed.

I'm pumped for the atmosphere...intimate, good chill vibes... but i have to agree that theres something to be said about walking around late night and getting lost in the woods. It wouldnt be a cop out... no way. I mean, I doubt Nateva will mimic exactly what happened at Rothbury, but i'm sure that in addition to the jugglers and mini parades and shiznit, there will be PLENTY of trippy shiznit for the vamps to lose themselves in. Plus I heard rumors of a silent disco late-late night...that'll be the shiznit.
PUMPED IN CT!!!

I'm actually quite happy that Nateva is suspiciously like Rothbury but smaller and more intimate. Dont get me wrong though I was looking forward to this year being my first year at Rothbury and I was extremely disappointed when they postponed it. Then Nateva comes in and is looking like it is going to be a great replacement for Rothbury along with being close to home so more of my friends will be able to go.
