We are really serious about providing a nitrous free event. We have hired the folks that run security for Phish and Bonnaroo and we have tasked them with making certain that not a single tank gets into the fairgrounds. Working with the Local and State Police we will remove, arrest and then tow the vehicles of individuals found in possession of nitrous. We see our event as a community that has the right to be safe, bring their family and kids if they desire, and have the ability to enjoy great music in Maine without being molested by people selling them ice cold fatties for $10. There is no place for nitrous sellers at our event. There is no place for drug dealers at our event. We respect people's personal rights and priveleges provided they show some basic discretion, but let's not confuse that with people who have no interest in the music and are only around to separate our customers from their money by selling them drugs and nitrous. You will find those people in a police holding cell at the end of the weekend. Meanwhile, Daryl, Daryl and Daryl will have towed their vehicles so far away it may take a week just to find them. If you are coming for the community and the music, we hope to see you in Maine this summer.

It's great to hear that you guys are taking such a strong stance on N20!! It brings in bad people and is horrible for the atmosphere.

Is it just me, or do the first and second sentences in this statement seem contradictory? Not saying the Phish/Roo security wants nitrous around, I just can't see them being proactive or effective about it.

nateva.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=natevaqa&action=display&thread=81Please see the guidelines for the Official Q&A. If you want to further discuss the responses received by the Official Nateva Gurus please by all means start a thread in one of the other sections. Just trying to help keep this as clean as possible for the Gurus so they can come in and get right to the questions.

One of my main concerns with going to this fest at first was wondering what they were going to do for security. While I didn't have any issues with security at Rothbury last year, I know there were a LOT of complaints afterward, especially from women who said that certain people were a little to "handsy." When I read yesterday that they were going to be getting the same people as 'roo has used, that was definitely a sigh of relief. I have NEVER had any issue with the security at Bonnaroo, and they always seem very on top of things. I've also never seen a nitrous problem when I've been there. I think we'll definitely be in good hands, but that is just my opinion.

Nateva has stated that they are telling the security ahead of time to not let any nitrous in. They appear to be very serious about that and i'm guessing that at past festivals/shows there weren't specific instructions to be strict about nitrous tanks. If the security is being told ahead of time to be proactive about nitrous, then maybe there will be more of an effort for it.

Nitros is just BAD.......keep it out...we can make a party with out it! Security at the ROO was cool but firm.......they let most everything else slide but the NO2....they had a zero tolerance policy and hit hard when they caught it. the thugs and goons finally went away....

To anyone who doesn't know quite why this issue is so important, read the last sentence of this post. The people hocking that stuff are typically some scary ass scumbags. All the lookouts they post usually look pretty scared, too, as if they really don't want to go (back?) to jail. I know that sounds prejudicial, but once you've seen it more than a few times... Tackling this issue isn't just checking at the door, either. Some WILL get in.

I stopped going to festivals for a while because there were too many kids that were just there for the drugs/party, and didn't give a crap about the music, friendships, and the real fun of festivals. Actually, that's why I still wont go back to Allgood which is a damn shame 'cause I used to really love that one. Too much sketch factor. I really can't wait to get to Maine for this one.

Good call on all that Phrazz. I'm in favor of anti-nitrous ninjas. Nothing says a good time like a ninja or two.

I want to quickly re-iterate that we don't want threads in this area to become "chat threads." They really should just be threads for asking questions of Nateva gurus and getting answers. Granted, I broke the rules myself, but I'm gonna ask that we stick with not having conversations on this area of the board. Thanks!
