On the Nateva website it says they will have late night big screen movies. Any suggestions or predictions? I would love some Big Lebowski, or Quest for Festeroo. Also, I wonder where they will be screened. Outside would be cool.

I have heard that they are planning on the mainstage area for the late night shows once the headliners have finished and they move other latenight music indoors. That could change though, either way I think they are planning them for outside. I had talked to Frank briefly about showing a Sox game and possibly a World Cup game or two. Apparently they had already been thinking of a Sox game but hadnt realized that it was World Cup time as well. I really have no idea if that will pan out or not though because the logistics behind showing one of these games to paying festival customers could be pretty challenging to overcome. As for movies, I would def. guess at some really popular comedy such as Lebowski and anything music related is highly likely as well

There are 162 baseball games a year, I think we can go a weekend without one. But the World Cup only comes around once every 4 years. Either way, I'd prefer some awesome movies. Lebowski, Fight Club, stuff like that.

I imagine there would be some hefty fees to be paid if they want to show a Sox game there, have no idea what would be involved in getting the okey-doke for a World Cup game...always been more of a fan of playing soccer than watching it anyway...hoping for some sweet flicks though, just in case the insomnia kicks in

I can't imagine in any way that I would decide after a day of partying I would want to go sit down in a field and watch a movie, at least not one that I have seen a hundred times before like Lebowksi or such. If they really want to go all out I wonder if they could get something like Iron Man 2 to be brought in for one night. Get something that most people may have never seen, or only seen once. I am sure there are all kinds of roadblocks to something like that though.

I think a movie on a big screen would be a great way to end my night, especially if the late night act is a DJ or someone I have no interest in. After a long day of dancing and partying, chilling out with some buds watching a movie actaully sounds fun. No idea what they'd show though...No matter, not everyone will be happy with the choice.

I doubt I will find myself down by the big screen much.. doesnt really appeal to me so much at a festy, but options are one of the things that make a good festival. Considering they wont be using the main stage area after the headliners each night, it seems like a good use of the area to me.

There's a big discussion asking for suggestions on this topic on their FB page... some good suggestions, but I can't remember half of them. Not sure what all the legal red tape would be for this since you're not supposed to show movies in a large crowd, etc., but whatever... here's some of what I wouldn't mind seeing:
Fraggle Rock The Muppet Show Where The Wild Things Are Pineapple Express

Where The Wild Things Are You really want to see me weep like a child? Only in a good way. LOL! Just had it on my mind... watched it this weekend, but didn't really get it. Didn't read the book as a child, though, and apparently I've missed out on a piece of my childhood. I guess I'm just out of the loop. The movie was trippy enough though, I'm sure I'd dig it in a festival atmosphere.

Thats a shame that you never read the book as a kid! I will def. be making sure my kids read it.
The lady talked me into going to see that at the theaters this last fall during the day during Umphs 3 night stand in Burlington, bad decision, blatantly weeping along with half the other people our age watching lol

Oh I wept too during Where The Wild Things Are! Ok, I bawled like a little baby, but it was so good.
How about Alice In Wonderland? I haven't seen the new one, but the one with Whoopie Goldberg in it is trippy as hell.

I second Stop Making Sense. Something really campy or a cult movie would be cool, like Dead Alive or Hedwig. Maybe some Rocky Horror. Id pay good money to see thousands of whacked out hippies doing the time warp
