The band is up there with the Dead, Dylan, etc. Levon plays a lot of Band songs when he tours, and like Phil and Bob he brings a level of energy and love that allow the songs to ring true even in their twilight years. His musicians are impeccable, and the joy he brings to the events where he participates is incomparable. Who's with me?!
Seriously, this festival is made for him. A drunkard's dream if I ever did see one!

I'd love to see Levon Helm at Nateva. Sadly, the officials have responded that he won't be there this year on the Facebook page.....but it could be a possibility next year i'd imagine. I'll be seeing him at Mountain Jam for his 70th Birthday bash....should be spectacular.

I hate to say it, but Levon's lost his voice. I'm in love with The Band, but the vocals on his new stuff really grate me. Not saying I wouldn't want him there, he's such a down to earth dude and his show would still probably be well worth it.

Levon's voice definitely isn't what it used to be. After all, the man did beat throat cancer. More often than not, Levon doesn't even do vox during his performances. In spite of that, he and his band still put on a hell of a show. Not sure if the current outfit (Levon and Friends) has Larry Campbell in the band, but if so, he's worth the price of admission alone.

I saw him at Mt. Jam two years ago, and it was easily one of the top three shows of the weekend. I don't mind his voice at all, and man can he still play them skins. I think the two albums he came out with recently are amazing, and are up there with anything the band ever did. I would kill to go to one of his midnight rambles.
