I had never really paid too much attention to these guys until, well, last night, but now I can honestly say they're in my top five bands that I have to see at Nateva. I think this video explains my reasoning :
Any thoughts?

I'm very happy about the new announcements. Nateva's latenights will get really, really crazy.....

Ghostland won't be playing a late night. Most likely will be before moe. on one of the main stages (think STS9 slot but a day earlier).
I am very excited about this band though. I missed their Roo set a few years ago......and looking forward to see them at Nateva. Crazy live show.

They knew what they were doin making sure G.O. could bring their light setup with them to Nateva

I watched the first minute of that video then shut it off, I cant dig that too much. Is the singer a guy or girl?

You don't like a laser light show while at a festival? Well tripping or not its an amazing sight. I haven't seen Ghostland yet but i can imagine how sick it would be compared to other shows i have seen. And yeah I'm not the biggest fan of the tight pants and crotch pumps lol, but ill be there to see that show no doubt. Nice video dexxy.

A wise man once told me "If all the Deadheads would just give Ghostland ten minutes of their time, with an open mind, they would really like them"

To me, he sounds a lot like Freddy Mercury at some points. Not every band is for everyone.....maybe they'll impress you if you see them....but if not....oh well. No harm done. I like this video more than the first one posted. it's got good audio and shows their light show more:

If he sounds like Mindless Self Indulgence, I definitely need to give it a listen!

I gave a few listens and this is not my type of music, but it looks like it could be the most fun set of the weekend so I'll check them out. The worst thing that happens is I claw out my ears with a big happy grin on my face, right?

I've found I have to listen to it in a certain setting....like I listened to a few songs on the computer and wasn't too impressed....but then had it on in my car and on my home stereo and was really getting into it. Needed more bass. Give it a few more listens and maybe you'll start to enjoy it more. I do agree that it looks like it could be an amazing set. I know their Bonnaroo show a few years ago was widely regarded as epic.

Plan to look for Passion Pit, Ghostland, She & Him, Crash Kings, Grizzly Bear, Jakob Dylan, Jackie Greene, and Rustic Overtones just to start things off. I figure that will allow me to really submerge myself into a band's sound as opposed to, as you said, listening at the computer. If I don't dig it after that I'm ok with a little time back at camp. But like I said, looks like it might be too much of a fun set to walk away.

So just get to the moe. show a little earlier then you planned and see if the end of Ghostland is looking good. I'm really looking forward to their show and am super excited they'll be followed by moe. who will rock the place out.

Ghostland playing pre-moe. makes me wonder when Umphreys will play. Will they be a mid-day set? I imagine they must be since they have a show the next day out west I don't see them being a latenight.

You got it. Sadly, they'll play earlier in the day. They were hoping to have Umphrey's open for moe. but they need to catch a flight that night in order to make sure they make it to their show the next day. It's the deal they had to work out because Nateva really wanted them (because they were one of the highest requested bands on Facebook). Afternoon Umphrey's is better than no Umphrey's at all.

They have to quickly make it back out west for their other shows. Red Rocks and such

I woulda loved that Umph > Moe. ...... but i'm just as happy about Ghostland being in that slot. Umphrey's will have a raging slot during the day and will still impress.

I def. would prefer Umphreys as a nighttime show or as a preheadliner. But lets be realistic they have other schedule restrictions they have to abide by - Afternoon Umphreys is WAYYYY better than NO Umphreys, RIGHT?!

Ghostland blew my mind at roo 08. I ended up choosing them over Phil.
