Are there other people out there who also believe that this could be a very good thing for Maine?
I sure do! nothing ever happens around the state like this festival. It finally gives the college scene something to look forward to in the summer here. If people want this so called "change" then give the next generation of leaders a dose of some GREAT live music and see what happens...

This will definitely give a small boost to the economy in Maine. Festivals like Bonnaroo are loved by the community because they get millions of dollars just from the people who go to the festivals. I hope that this year's festival goes smoothly and the townspeople like it enough to allow it back next year.

Rob Derhak agrees: Rob Derhak of the band moe. won't have to travel far. Derhak, moe.'s bass player and singer, lives in the suburbs north of Portland. He credits Oxford for having the smarts to land a festival like this.
"I'm psyched," said Derhak, whose band spends much of the summer hopping from one festival to the next, and headlines at Nateva on Friday night. "I get up to Mt. Abram all the time in the winter to go skiing. I drive through Oxford every single time, so when I heard it was happening, I was pretty pumped. It's really cool, and it's good for Maine. I think the town will realize that it's a good event. After all is said and done, Oxford will be pretty psyched, too."www.pressherald.com/life/audience/jamtown-u_s_a__2010-06-27.html

Just bout 'magine! Not only does it bring good music and economic gains to the area, but it revives some of the love Maine used to bring in the Jam Fest and Rave scene back about a decade ago.
And remember, Maine is V A C A T I O N L A N D!!!
