Seriously folks.... how many different ways can you ask about getting around the rules because you think your situation is 'different' or you're somehow special enough that the rules don't apply to you?
Don't you get it that the folks running the festival can't base their rules on your unique situation alone and that they have to do things based on the good of the festival community as a whole? And that just because some of these rules may inconvenience you personally, it doesn't mean that Nateva is out to screw you specifically? Do you not realize that it isn't all about you and only you?
Do you not realize that your individualistic attitudes, gripes, and posturing go against the very thing that makes festivals so much fun? That thing is called "community". In a community there is give and take. You give a little... and gain a lot. Do you want to be part of the community? Or an individual standing on the outside and looking in? You can't have both so if you want to be part of the community, you have to abide by the rules of the community...some of which you may agree with, some of which you may not agree with. But all of which are in place for the good of the community as a whole.
All of this is really simple. Passes with onsite camping went on sale almost 6 months ago. If you didn't get around to getting one then you lost out. You don't get to kick and scream now because you, your buddy, or your sqeeze dragged your feet for too long. Sometimes life isn't fair.
And the $35 car rule came about to simply encourage carpooling and discourage groups of people from trying to claim an unusually large chunk of precious real estate by arriving in more vehicles than necessary.
It's not that hard to figure out. If you don't like it, then don't go. No doubt someone will snap up your tix about two minutes after you put 'em up for sale. No blood, no foul.
But the fest is less than two weeks away. The rules are what they are and they aren't going to change now. So let's all just get over it (and ourselves) and get on with enjoying the festival and start creating some positive vibes. Right here, right now.
None of this stuff that seems so important now will matter in the least once the music starts. A year from now you'll look back on your weekend in Maine and you'll remember the cool people you met, the amazing shows you caught, the good times with old friends, and those rare moments of festival magic that happen when you least expect it and make it all seem 'right' in the world, if only for that moment in time. What you won't care about is $35, where you camped, or how much booze you were allowed to bring. If it is.... well... you missed the whole point of being there anyway. So let's not waste any more time or board space with the bellyaching. On with the fun, man!
