On the website there is a statement from the local Fire dept. stating that charcoal or propane are allowed for cookstoves and that liquid fuel stoves are not. Is this is a suggestion or is this for real? It seems to me that this must be a recommendation. If it's for real can somebody please explain to me the "rule". Thanks

you can bring a small gas cooking stove and the fuel. Canisters or bottles. Just be safe.
