Some friends and I are coming from Chicago and looking for a good place to camp in a state park (or anywhere really) for Wednesday night somewhat nearby (could be close or hrs away as long as it is beautiful). Any advice on a heady spot where we could all enjoy. Ive heard the White mountains are dope but where in the white mountains??? Thanks and much love.

I can't vouch for any of these campgrounds because I've never been to any of them, but a few of them have some reviews. Here's a link for nearby camgrounds: click here! Hope that helps. I'd also hang out a bit before making your decision. We have a few locals on the board who may be able to give you a better answer.

The white mountains are grat however they are up in Newhampshire and aways from 95... Also, It will be summah in new england and the campgrounds will be packed. My best advise is to get a cheap hotel on the way in or surf the net and find one... But if you want to go to the white mountains.. Dolly Copp Campground is wonderful, one of my favorite places in the world!!! It is filled as far as reservations but the do have a loop that is first come first serve.. Hope that helps a little bit

Just thought I would mention that Walmart is a couple miles down the road for the festival and if all else fails I am sure you could all sleep there ( in your car though) for the night. Doesn't Walmart have some sorta thing where they promote RV camping in their parking lots haha.

I would try to phone in a reservation at SOME campsite if you can find one. Holiday weekend means camping spots hard to find.

White Lake State Park (located on Route 16, Tamworth, NH) is beautiful and I'm pretty sure you can get a site without a reservation. Last time I checked only some of the sites could be reserved (the rest were first-come-first-served). Follow link for more info but here's all you need to know... CampingThe 204-site campground in White Lake State Park is open from mid-May through Columbus Day in mid-October. A camp store, showers, canoe rentals, ice and firewood are available. Within the park, trout fishing, swimming, hiking and canoeing are favorite activities of campers. The campground is well-located to serve as a base from which to enjoy many activities and attractions in the area. White Lake is only twenty miles south of North Conway, New Hampshire which is famed for its tax-free outlet shopping opportunities. The east end of the Kancgamagus Highway, a National Scenic Byway that extends thirty-two miles through the heart of the White Mountain National Forest, is located in nearby Conway. Many hiking trails in the White Mountain National Forest provide hiking options for both beginner hikers and those with extensive experience. Reservations: New Hampshire State Parks has partnered with ReserveAmerica to offer our guests a high quality reservation service. The dedicated toll-free number to call to make a reservation through the ReserveAmerica Call Center is 1-877-nhparks (1-877-647-2757). www.reserveamerica.com/r/campgroundDetails.do?contractCode=NH&parkId=270097Oxford, ME is a relatively short ride from there and the scenery as you head north from Tamworth to Conway is quite nice. Here's a view of Mt. Chocorua in the fall:

^^ Good call on white lake, spiderpig. Mt. Chocorua is a pretty short and easy hike if you're up for a little adventure. The view from the top is stunning.

My boyfriend and I will be staying in North Conway, NH on Iona Lake before we leave for Nateva. It's about an hour drive, and absolutely gorgeous.

I strongly recommend continuing up 26 till you get into the Bethel area ( about 40 min from nateva.) Sunday River is right there and super dank to camp around. Try driving down to Jordan and anywhere along the woods that fits you and is a good spot will be super cool. There is a river around there and a bunch of waterfalls to jump off. check it out
