the swearing thing is a bit ridiculous.
you guys have to come up with some filters - there is no way to seriously police this rule, especially when / if this board takes off. btw - the TOS says no profanity - but profanity is ultimately decided by the community - no? do a bunch of festie attendees really care about naughty language?
plus, i swear like a dock worker. it can be challenging when i want to call someone a quacker, but have to remember to not use the term im looking for...

I'm hoping that we don't have to keep revisiting this. We've set up some filters that should help deal with the problem. They're not perfect, but they should help. But we're asking the board members to respect the profanity rule. If you want to know basically what's not allowed, listen to Carlin's "7 words you can't say on TV or radio." That should help. But there are boards that enforce a no-profanity rule. I've made mention of the Infobury board a number of times, and 2 of the mods other than myself spent a lot of time over at Infobury. They do a good job of severely limiting the profanity on their board, and I want to carry that on over here. If you slip and say "fudge" (see how the filter caught that?) you won't be banned or anything like that, but we are asking that you try and keep it at a minimum.
I am gonna ask that, if you have questions regarding this, PM a mod. I don't want to keep answering the same questions over and over again. The board rules are pretty straightforward, and I don't find them overly restrictive. But the rules are what they are, and they're going to stay in place. Please try and respect them.

If you really think proboards will come shut you down for swearing you have another thing coming. I'm actually a mod/admin etc on a number of boards...and not one bans swearing. It's foolish.
