A friend of mine and his group left Portland for Nateva just after 6pm tonight. He gave me updates along the way but long story short they didn't get to their "on site" camping area till MIDNIGHT. To make matters worse their "on site" camping is across from Hannafords because the sites on the fairground are already filled up. Sounds like a mess to say the least. Sorry for the negativity. I just wonder what they plan on doing when the real crowds start showing up?

Being on the inside, they did run out of room last night. They did open up the speedway last night way early. From the buzz around camp, the chief of police in Oxford told Nateva to clear the roads and get people from hanging out around town. This is why the speedway opened as soon as it did. NOONE is camping on that hill either. They wont let us and Frank, we wont see you on the hill..

Sorry but this is BS! We paid and planned for onsite camping. Camping on the Speedway is not how I wanted to spend my 4th of July weekend. Hopefully they have another solution or will offer refunds. If not I will be doing a chargeback dispute on my credit card.
Once again, I apoligize for the negativity.

on 6/2 i worte on a topic called "ONSITE PARKING"......
question....all this talk of changing policies and space problems is concerning me and making me think about more changes in policies to possibly come....me and my girlfriend are coming either late friday or early saturday. we both have camping tickets and are arriving together. should i be concerned that new festival mistakes could turn into us being turned away due to space problems? i know that this had been addressed earlier but maybe everything hasn't been looked into it seems? hahaha i'm just getting scared now. ease me
i would have taken the refund, i have been guaranteed onsite camping several times, they better not fudge this up....i've been to woodstock 99, we all know what happened there....dont want another one, id rather stay home

I'm moving this over to general discussion. I completely agree that, if the onsite camping is full and not everyone with an onsite pass is in, that's very very poor. I'm onsite, but everyone with an on-site pass should be on-site. I think they would've been much better served to do the on-site passes by car (ie. for $50 you can have a certain amount of space with your car) instead of per person.

This is exactly why I was very cautious about purchasing tickets. Thankfully I decided to stay home and watch the bands via iclips. I was asking these same questions back in April and "NO BODY" was able to give me straight answers and the modirater's just shat on my questions telling me to go to another festival is this one, Nateva, seemed to sketchy. Well who's laughing now?
Who was the numbskull to decide that 100 acres is enough space for stages, vendors, security roads, port-a-potties and camping should smacked up side the head and called moron for the rest of their lives.

So my friends who arrived Friday and are camped on-site are at the fairgrounds. Obviously they're further back than folks who arrived early, but they are on-site. It's about a 10-15 minute walk from their camp to the main stage area. So it looks like they did get everyone on-site, just not right by the stages, which is where people who arrived on Thursday are camped.

First off: Did anyone with On-Site weekend passes get turned away from the on site camping? If so.....then that's an issue that needs to be discussed. If not....then everyone needs to chill out. There's really no reason for this much negativity and complaining when you have yet to experience the thing you are complaining about. I checked the board quick on my phone on the drive home and was amazed to see people so upset about something that hasn't even been proven yet. I'm going to respond to a few posts but Mojo's last post pretty much sums it up well. That lot was on site. They had parking lines already there when I was waiting in that section at 2pm on Thursday. It doesn't matter that it was across the street from Hannafords.......as long as it was in the gated area that the festival took place on then it was onsite camping. I had friends who didn't get in until late Friday as well and they were parked there. I hung out at their site for a little bit and it wasn't any more then a ten minute walk to the main venue. How did everything work out? I'm hoping you were able to camp onsite and didn't get rejected. Please give us an update when you're on the boards again Being on the inside, they did run out of room last night. They did open up the speedway last night way early. From the buzz around camp, the chief of police in Oxford told Nateva to clear the roads and get people from hanging out around town. This is why the speedway opened as soon as it did. NOONE is camping on that hill either. It makes sense that they opened up the speedway....that way any off site campers who didn't sneak their way in would have somewhere to stay. Also, that hill that nobody was camping on (the one that the news report was about, I assume) wasn't going to be used for camping. I know the article said something like that but I seem to remember one of the responses being that it wouldn't affect anything and they weren't going to be camping people there. Not totally sure....but I think that's the truth. Dude....you asked the questions in April while they were still probably ironing out all the final details. Also, you asked it in a negative way, implying that people would be unsafe and that the whole festival set up was sketchy. The thing that really annoys me though.....is that your questions were answered. It may have taken a few days but Nateva officials responded with a lot of info that was helpful. Also, nobody "shat on your questions" and we didn't tell you to go to another festival. I posted: " I think it's fine but if you find it sketchy you're more than welcome to find another festival to have fun at this summer.". Is that really so bad? You still could have came....but all we were saying was that if you don't like the way it's looking.....then there are other options. As for the "Well who's laughing now?" comment......well I'd have to say we are. I had an amazing time in an intimate festival setting and got to see some amazing acts. Couldn't have asked for better weather and really dug how the whole setup was. There were plenty of areas for water and the late night/campground stages were so open and free you could bring whatever you wanted to them (coolers, beers, whatever). I had a great time. I hope it comes back next year. There was plenty of space. A whole lot of it. I never felt cramped or crowded. The campsites were fine and the crowd was always small. Walking into the gates was never a long wait and almost every show (save for the Flaming Lips) you could get really close if you wanted. I thought it was plenty of room. So anyway......if there were people who had on-site camping passes and were refused entrance to the on-site camping.....please post here and give us the details. That should not be happening.

i got there friday around 1:30 PM and was parked by the Hannafords - it was a 15 minute walk from my tent to the front of the stage... lots of people came later. from what i saw, there were spots available randomly as people left as early as saturday and i dont think the last rows really filled in...
i have a 15 minute walk from my tent to the what stage at bonnaroo - and that's VIP.

Camping looked tight the first night but i think that was from some confusion . the next morning everything seemed to fill in nicely . I got there early and was lucky to get a tree line spot for some afternoon shade .
Idio did you have your shoes at nateva >? I saw someone with a set and was wondering if it was you.

well, i was pissed that nobody had updated me, that was kind of shiznitty. i was bugging out the whole way up, then when i got there, nobody knew dingle about what to do with me. we pulled up around 10:00 pm friday, got searched and had an "O" written on my car. then was told to follow a certain road and listen to workers instructions on where to camp...there was nobody helpful at all. not one worker knew anything about the layout of the fest or where i could or couldnt camp. except for one girl in some ADA area knew i couldnt camp there. so my girlfriend got upset and frustrated and i had to end up driving which i havent done in over a year since i lost my DL. most the workers were stoned which pissed me off till i realized the next day that they were volunteers which is kinda cool. i eventually got sent down roads from some of these dopes that lead me off of the site then one of the dudes on the pottle rd sent me 2 miles south(thank god i didnt get arrested for driving) to come back up 26...i re-entered the venue and told them what happened and there was nobody who could figure anything out. it was definitely FULLLLL and nobody honestly knew shiznit nor could find a supervisor that did...eventually some guy said "oh... i should have wrote THIS on your car"(wrote an "F") and said "now you'll be ok" i went back along the road getting the same BS answers then went to the camping info booth to the west of the stage...the guy was kind of cool but didnt know much about the site, even with the map in his hand, after driving around the venue 15 times at least i knew way more then he did and corrected him around 6 times. he said the "F" stood for family camping.....so the dingle at the main gate who put that on my car pretty much got fed up with trying to guess how to help me and was frustrated himself with obvious lack of competency and organization that he attempted to shoe me off to a semi-offsite bogus special-ruled nonsense site that i should not have been banished to. the guy at the booth eventually said "hey man, just find a spot and camp there"....so of coarse i said "ok, im going to camp right here next to your booth then". that didnt fly and i was getting nowhere and to the point of hardcore anger......thennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn in my moment of cursing the fest and hating morons...i heard in the distance....keller come on with moe and play "deal".....and it saved my night and possibly my fest hahaha i drove to what i thought was a good area to camp, picked a borderline spot that i thought i might get some heat for making but it was all good.....the rest of the fest was good, i met frank by the platform and thanked him for a great fest, it was really a good one. everything was smooth after friday night. showers were amazing, like wayne of the flaming lips said, the toilets were top notch. the whole thing was a great weekend. i will def be back
