Does the state have any laws which out-of-staters should know?? IE. I live in Jersey and had to learn the hard way you can't turn on red in New York because its okay in my state. Anything of that sort...

The only one that comes to mind is "Click it or Ticket". Wear your seatbelt!!! It's a law in most states anyway, but they're pretty strict here in some areas. I'm sure since it's 4th of July weekend, they will be looking at everyone. Other than that, I can't really think of any others right off-hand.
Oops, sorry, I just noticed this is the official forum. Delete this if you feel it's necessary!

Dont speed over 75-80 on the highway, troopers will be watching for out of staters. Also, police in Maine can pull you over for any reason now, so if they think you are being wreckless while eating a cheeseburger, they might mess with you, hopefully not though. Other than that, ya'll should be good. See you there!

Wearing Yankee hats is illegal, and you have to have at least one piece of flannel in your possession.

Maine
Portland - it is illegal to tickle a girl under the chin with a feather duster. Rumford - it is against the law to bite your landlord. Waterville - it is against the law to blow your nose in public. Augusta - It is illegal to walk down the street while playing a violin. Maine forbids one from going skydiving by making it illegal to step out of a plane while it is in flight.

Just read some traffic laws...Speed limit 25 in residential areas, 45 on state roads, 65 on major highways. All unless a sign says otherwise. Also, speeding 30 mph over limit or more is a criminal offense so be careful...Peace and see ya tomorrow.

The law is smoking is prohibited in all vehicles with kids under the age of 16. If you're caught, it's a pretty hefty fine. Up to $200 I believe.

My friend cleared that up for me when we were driving around. NYC you can't turn right on red unless a sign tells you it's allowed.
