Look, I know they've been around forever, but George Clinton and P-Funk were absolutely terrible. Their set was sloppy and just plain painful to listen to. The horn section sounded like crap, and the singing was awful. I couldn't wait for them to be done.

It was probably the only disappointing set I caught this weekend.
I wasn't expecting much....i'd never seen them and don't really listen much but all I was hoping for was just a fun show. I ended up spending the first half of the set wondering, "Where is George Clinton?" and then the second half of the set wondering, "If that George Clinton?".
Just the appearance alone was disappointing. I was under the impression that he still had the huge beard and dressed pretty wildly so when I saw him come out with a short black beard and a baseball hat I was a little confused. He looked like a hip, 2010 version of George Clinton who was trying to look like a rapper or something.
His voice was pretty bad too. Worse than Dylan's IMO.
I thought the band was solid and they definitely got the crowd dancing in the beginning....I just didn't leave the show feeling the way I expected to. Oh well....now I can cross that off the list of bands I've never seen.

I too was trying to figure out which one was George Clinton. I was expecting the dreads and crazy dress as well. I think I enjoyed the show only because we met some really cool people at the beer tent and spent the whole time talking to them. All of us were trying to figure out which one was George and laughing about it. Is that him? No maybe that's him? Is that really him? I can't believe that's him. lol

George has my love and respect always. The man sculpted the funk music which we hear today. Of course your voice is gonna sound like shiznit if you smoke crack for fifteen years, His band holds that shiznit down
