haha my picks are not at all what i would have expected...
in no order
- STS9 - wow...i got very into it as did almost everybody in the crowd that i saw, would like to see them again
- the McLovins - for real, i figured id check them out and it'd just be goofy kids who looked nerdy playing a phish song and cutely trying to be creative past that. no way, they packed the small stage completely and ripped it up!!! mad props to those guys. they were legit. it was cool that since they got their notoriety from covering a phish song(YEM), they chose another to cover "tweezer reprise" which was mad cool due to recent phish current events...
- Furthur - not the best time ive seen phil and bobby but it was a great night for some dead jams and some love in the air, seriously!! was heavily disappointed though that derek and susan didnt join them for some tunes, kind of weak. but seeing "ramble on rose" then "when i paint my masterpiece" in the first set made my night, 2 of my favorites...
also the flaming lips stage show was great but music-wise they didnt hit the top 3 for me, but they were still amazing

Flaming Lips- They blew my mind, just like everyone said they would. Now I am going to see them in Niagara Falls next week because I was so impressed!
The Mclovins- I feel the same as rmcq. I wasnt expecting much, but these kids rock hard! I hope they keep at this and keep progressing musicically. If they do, we are in for some fun in 5-10-15 years!
Furthur- That was one of the weaker shows I have seen them do so far this tour lol, but it was still really fun and the fact that it was 4th of July and Bobby pointed out the sunset before the first song just made for a sweet sweet night. And how about that Eyes of the World?!
Honerable mention: Mark Karan and Jemmimah Puddleduck, Umphreys, Moe., Keller...

moe. - I like moe. and all but they weren't even a top 10 must-see band going into the weekend. But damn if they didn't bring it. I really like that they leaned so heavily on their older catalog of songs. Great set. I haven't been able to get The Pit out of my head all weekend.
Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad - these guys totally surprised me. Again an act I wasn't expecting much from, in fact I didn't even plan to go see them. But their blend of reggae/dub/jamming was a great way to kick off the late nights.
Ghostland Observatory - the lasers alone would have earned them this ranking, but that was such a high energy, fun show. Way too hard to categorize their sound. I was looking forward to their show just because it seemed like it would be really weird, and it was, so I was happy.
Honorable Mention - Keller Williams, Drive-By Truckers, STS9, Trucks/Tedeschi

Flaming Lips- I didn't catch the whole set, but what I heard/saw totally blew me away. I always wanted to see them live, and now that I have I want to go again and again and again!
Furthur- DUH.
Ghostland Observatory- I'd never even heard of these guys before Nateva, and they kicked so much ass! I love anything that makes me want to dance nonstop, but is still musically creative and innovative.

For both Raven and I it had to be Passion Pit, Ghostland Observatory and STS9. All three just rocked our socks! I dragged Raven to the PP show knowing if she gave it a chance she would love them and GO. Both shows ended up being her top two shows of the weekend. She loved Keller too which really surprised me.

Flamming Lips - First time seeing them, fudgeing amazing, they have to be my #1
John Browns Body - They had a amazing set, band was playing in full grove, and everything was perfect.
Lotus - amazing light show, music just put everyone in a great mood for the whole weekend, such an epic way to start it!
Honorable Mention - Felice brothers, Umphery's McGee, The Brew, Greensky Bluegrass (not even to bluegrass a little bit, but they were awesome)

Big Gigantic. Big Gigantic. Big Gigantic. LOVED them!! Who knew two guys could do SO MUCH!? Passion Pit really surprised me! I had a blast at that show (wish it wasn't so HOT though!). Flaming Lips! What an AMAZING stage show!! I heard they put on an almost replica show at Providence the other night, but I'm sooo excited about everything they did.
Ben's top three: Big Gigantic / EOTO / Flaming Lips Hahahaha!
