Can anyone tell me why a group of four were camped in front of me at Bearfield ( right next to the gate by security and cops ) without wristbands the entire weekend???

Because they could? If NATEVA continues year after year, more folks will see that there are ways around paying for on-site camping. Not fair at all to those who pay but it's bound to happen. I didn't see anything preventing one vehicle (loaded with like 6 tents) arrive with an on-site camping ticket then meet a dozen friends inside (that only paid for day tickets) then distribute gear and set up for the weekend.

No clue....but if you wanted something done about it you could have told one of those security or staff that were nearby. I saw security busting people for fake wristbands and setting up camp where they shouldn't be a few times. They also had a phone number you could have called listed in the schedule booklet.

Hey now, Im not trying to stir up complaints or anything like that... Even if it sounds like I am. I am not asking " Can anyone tell me why a group of four were camped in front of me at Bearfield ( right next to the gate by security and cops ) without wristbands the entire weekend??? And why wasnt anything done about it or why werent they kicked out???
Of course there will be hiccups for the first time fest. Im simply trying to figure out how people drove through the entrance where all the staff was when they first entered the campgrounds and werent checked. My neighbors without tickets were very cool.. Gave me food, pics of the dead from back in the day they shot, even moved their tent when i was trying to leave early come monday. I just didnt get how they werent spotted by the many volunteers about 15 feet away for the entire duration.
As for me saying something?.... Well, i didn't pay a few hundred bucks to do someone else's work, nor did i want to ruin anyone's weekend. Should i have said something about not paying the 20 dollar early fee on thursday. Should i have said something about the person selling breakfast burritos that could be food poisoned since they are unlicensed vendors? Should i have said something about the dogs that started fighting come monday morning? Should i have told the staff about the kids doing K right next to me? Should i have said something about the dude trying to sell me diesel? I guess if i am not part of the solution, then im with the problem. Again, not trying to complain or ruin anyone's weekend. Just curious that is all, i was satisfied with spiderpigs response, i guess that was all i was looking for. And ITM, i realilzed you reply to many of the posts on this board and you basically know whats up and shoot it straight and i thank you for your reply. You seem to have a good head on your shoulder and should change your name to itrainstaff. Thanks all, the fest was great.

You don't have to ruin anyone's weekend......was just saying that if they were bothering you...something could've been done about it. I know I was a little hesitant about overcrowding in the campsites when it was unclear how they would be checking people before the festival started.
Now, after reading the full post with more details, it seems like something that Spiderpig described could have happened....with one car with onsite parking and a bunch of people who crashed. It sucks and I dislike it when someone tries to cheat the system just for their own enjoyment. I paid money for the onsite camping and I didn't expect to see others crashing there. I didn't see many, but if you did....thats kind of annoying.
Hopefully next year Nateva can address the few issues people had with staff and security. I'd imagine they'll improve a lot since this was just the first year. Anyway, glad you had a great time anyway. I know I did.

Regardless of security, where there's a will, there's a way! I'm just glad Nateva said this wouldn't be possible. That way, MOST people without proper tickets didn't PLAN to stay there anyway. I'm also glad the group in question was on their best behavior. Nobody wants to narc out others, but if they were causing trouble in any way, I'm all for going Serpico on their arses!
