Someone posted on JamBase that Widespread Panic was just announced for Nateva. This just made my day if true!

Where did you see that? I looked in the comments for the WSP article and didn't see anything
edit: found it.
WSP isn't really my cup of tea unfortunately, but hey I'll be there either way.

Yea I would NOT take that as fact. That dude says that in about every article. It is certainly not beyond the realm of possibility but I guarantee that he does not know, one way or the other.

Just below his post someone says:
^^lance says WSP is playing everywhere. It's some kind of inside joke I guess. I gotta wonder if there's a lanceuphisbutt1 and lanceuphisbutt2.
guess I wouldn't count on that one.

This was actually my guess for one of the openers. It is kind of funny because Widespread is not big in the east at all. I saw them in Boston last summer at at venue that holds around 5,000 and it wasn't even close to being sold out...but I guess a festival like this they will draw.

If WSP is on the bill (and that's a big if, I have no idea if it's true or not), they'll do just fine as one of the three headliners. They likely won't end up as the biggest name, but last year Nateva had a little something for everyone, and the headliners were definitely diverse. A WSP coupled with a more indie band (The Dead Weather or maybe something like that?) and then an "older" band (Allman Brothers?) would make for a nice, well rounded group of headliners.

Something like this.... Widespread Panic (headline night 1) Daft Punk (unlikely but an act much like them - headline night 2) Allman Brothers Band (headline night 3)

Remember, last year there were only something like 4 bands for the early bird, with Lotus being the biggest name. Don't expect an Umphrey's or anything similar at Nateva on Thursday.

Who's to say, ya never know what they are working on. I wouldn't base your expectations of year 2 solely off of what was done in year 1. If they were to use the outdoor stages for day 1 I don't see any reason they couldn't bring in a bigger act for thursday night.
