The lineup will be out soon, but in the meantime we might as well obsess about who will be there. Who do think could headline this year, realistically? Given last year's eclectic lineup I think there are some pretty exciting, somewhat offbeat options. Here are my offerings:
Arcade Fire The Black Keys Allman Bros.

Here are my offerings: Arcade Fire The Black Keys Allman Bros. Very interesting and plausible.... Although I'd expect the Keys as a daytime/pre-headliner more than a straight Top billing. My stab? Primus Thievery Corporation Allman Brothers sub-headliners: Animal Collective Yonder Mnt. String Band Band of Horses Chris Robinson Band Florence and the Machine

The Flaming Lips were amazing, and would blow some minds as a headliner again Moe. was sick, especially when Keller played Deal with them Further is always good to have the only thing I would change....SCI all the way

I would love it if Cheese headlined, and I don't think it's super unrealistic. Haven't seen those guys since '05. Pretty sure they won't repeat any headliners, so that would put moe. out. Umprey's would be OK, not sure if they're really headliner worthy yet, that and I'm just not that into them. Primus would kill it, as would MMJ, who are also headlining a night of Mountain Jam. Another option would maybe be Robert Plant and the band of joy. Haven't heard any of their stuff, but I'm always down for Mr. Plant.

Pretty sure they won't repeat any headliner Almost positive that you are correct about that. Would not make a whole lot of sense as a new up and coming festival to book the same bands as headliners in the first two years. As much as I would like to see Furthur at Nateva again, I find it highly unlikely. It just wouldn't make a lot of sense, considering they def. want to be able to get as much exposure into the festival scene through a variety of quality headliners in the first few years as possible. That, and there already is a Gathering of the Vibes which is a Dead focused festival that has almost 15 years on Nateva. So that makes me think we likely wont see Furthur back. In my mind though if they can book Furthur as a first year festival than there is no reason they couldn't pull something like SCI for year 2 Could be wrong about this one but I also think it would be unlikely to see Nateva book headliners that some of their direct competitors had last year such as Primus or Levon Helm. We will find out in a week or two either way!

I think SCI is very realistic to headline. Their website says they're playing 4 festivals this summer, with Bonnaroo and the Roth replacement "Electric Forest" counting for 2 of the 4. Don't know if there will be a Hornings this year, so Nateva has a pretty good shot, IMO. Dexxy: I'm with you about the repeat headliners, but the Flips just HAVE to be there!!! can't wait....

"Dave is not here man" DMB isn't touring this year, only hosting 4 separate festivals of their own...
