At this point, what are your top 5 acts to see at Nateva?
For me:
5) Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi Band - Trucks is one of the best guitarists alive. Tedeschi has a great voice. Nice mix.
4) Keller Williams - Always a fun time. Watching one person create those songs is just neat to watch.
3) Furthur - Saw them twice on their last tour and they really are sounding great. John is a much needed piece. You can tell Phil & Bobby like having that sound back. Plus you get the psychedelic stuff Phil loves along with the rockin' stuff that Bobby does.
2) The Flaming Lips - I've never seen them live but have always wanted to. Soft Bulletin and Yoshimi are two of the greatest albums I've ever heard.
1) Umphreys McGee - For a long time I just couldn't get into these guys. Then last year at Rothbury they made me believe. I listen to them all the time now. Umphreys is what made me decide Nateva was my fest for Summer '10.
I'm sure that will change many times between now and then.

Those are my top 5 because I know they will be fun and put on a good show. But I am also interested in a few bands I know much less about like Max Creek and Greensky Bluegrass.

This will probably change in 15 minutes, but here's my top 5 for right this second...
1 - The FLips My goal was to them somehow, somewhere this summer, so when they popped up on this lineup and it was the same weekend as I already had off for Rothbury, it was like the stars aligned or something. ;D
2 - Keller Williams Keller's always good... can't wait to see which show he brings.
3 - Furthur From what everyone that's already seen them this year has said... they sound great, so I'm excited for this show on the 4th. Can't go wrong with some form of The Dead and the 4th of July and fireworks two years in a row. ;D
4 - STS9 Twilight set should be awesome. Can't think of a better way to get geared up for a headliner and latenight than these guys.
5 - moe. I've only seen these guys live once and it was last years 'roo. I was so drained from the day I already had that I couldn't hardly keep my eyes open. We ended up leaving their set and heading back to camp early, and I was soooooo disappointed. It's not happening again this year.

I'm sure this will change once the full lineup is announced but:
1. Furthur- I've never seen them, and there is no where in the world I would rather be on the 4th of July. 2. STS9- I've never seen them either, despite having the chance a million times, and I'm pretty excited to see their sunset set. Kind of wish they were playing late night, though. 3. FLips- I saw them three or four years ago at the NY state fair w/ ween and Sonic Youth. To be honest I wasn't blown away, but I think a lot of that had to do with the venue (you couldn't get anywhere near the band) so I'm really excited to give them another shot. 4. Felice Bros.- I really, really, dig their sound. I've never seen them but if there's one thing I like it's honest American roots rock. 5. Zappa Plays Zappa- nuff' said
Again, I'm sure this list will undergo some changes in a few days...

1. Furthur- doing most of the East coast tour, except for the shows that I will be at Nateva for. 2. Umphreys Mcgee- One of the hottest bands touring right now I think, and they always rock festivals. 3. Flaming Lips- Never seen them before, heard great things, looking forward to Saturday night. 4.Moe.- Havn't seen them since All Good last year, where they kind of let me down. I have a feeling they will rage out this year at Nateva though. Been listening to a lot of Moe. recently... 5.Mark Karan and Jemmimah Puddleduck- Big fan of MK, can't wait to see him without Ratdog!
